Website and Netlify

A simple site, kept current by text

For organizations without a web person, Grantkeeper can look after a small website itself: build it, check it, publish it and change it when you text.

Text it like this

Fictional example.

You: Add the Thanksgiving dinner to the events page: Nov 26, 5 pm, fellowship hall, free.
Grantkeeper: Added and checked on a phone and a computer. Screenshots are on your private page. Text back the code I just sent to put it live.

What it builds

Small, fast sites made of plain pages: home, events, programs, how to give (with a link to your secure giving page), how to visit and contact. Each page can have a Spanish version with the same facts. The pages start from a tested layout, so menus and buttons work on a phone.

Photos cannot be placed on the site yet, and a logo works only if you have it as an SVG file, so the look comes from your colors and lettering. A captioned video made from your photos with the Media add-on can go on a page.

Checked before it is public

After each change, Grantkeeper builds a preview and checks it: phone and computer screenshots, menus that can be reached, buttons that work, no errors and nothing that scrolls sideways. You see the screenshots on your private page, or a private preview on your own devices if Tailscale is set up.

Publishing takes a one-time code you text back, tied to that exact version. If something is wrong after it goes live, Grantkeeper can put the previous version back the same way.

Hosting and your domain

Sites are published to Netlify, a website host, and we set up the account and your domain name with you. Google Ad Grants requires grant ads to point to your own website on your own domain, so grant campaigns always link there. If your site is on WordPress, the WordPress connection is the better fit.

What to send for a change

Short is fine: “Wednesday Bible study moves to 7 pm starting Nov 5” or “add the food pantry hours in Spanish.” Grantkeeper finds the right page, makes the change and sends the screenshots. A bigger change, such as a new page for a capital campaign, starts with a short plan and one question before it builds.

You can also ask what is on the site right now. Grantkeeper reads its own working copy and tells you, which is handy before a board meeting or a new staff member’s first week.

Small changes are the point: new service times, an added event, a closed program. Text the change, look at the screenshots, send the code.
