Renew SAM.gov before it lapses

Federal grants, and many awards paid with federal money, need an active SAM.gov registration that is renewed every year. Grantkeeper reads the expiration date from a screenshot and reminds you in time.

What you send: A screenshot of your entity's SAM.gov page showing the status and expiration date, and the name of the person who renews it.
What you send
What you get: Reminders 60, 30 and 14 days before the date, each with a renewal checklist, and a dated task in TickTick if it is connected.

Grantkeeper: Active, expires June 14, 2027. Reminders set for April 15, May 15 and May 31, each with the renewal checklist, and a TickTick task on April 15. Who renews it, you or your treasurer?

Why the date matters

Grants.gov is direct about it: you must renew your SAM.gov registration every year. It also says to allow up to 10 business days for a registration to become active, and that missing or unverified information can stretch that to weeks or months. The registration carries your Unique Entity ID, which shows up on federal applications, so a lapse can hold up an application or a payment at the worst moment.

What Grantkeeper does with your screenshot

It reads the legal name, the status and the expiration date, saves them in your files and, with Schedules on, sets three dated reminders to your chat. Each reminder carries a short checklist: who your Electronic Business Point of Contact is, whether your legal name, address and tax details still match what the registration uses, who has the banking details for the renewal screen, and enough lead time to fix anything that does not match.

If TickTick is connected, it also adds a task on the first reminder date so the renewal sits with the rest of your to-dos. After the renewal, send a new screenshot and it moves the reminders to next year's date.

What it does not do

Grantkeeper does not sign in to SAM.gov, renew the registration or change anything there. Never text your login, bank account numbers or tax documents; those belong on the renewal screen itself. If a letter or call offers to renew your registration for a fee, check it against SAM.gov directly before doing anything.

The SAM.gov and Grants.gov guide explains the registrations a small nonprofit needs before a first federal application.

What Grantkeeper prepares

Reminders 60, 30 and 14 days before the date, each with a renewal checklist, and a dated task in TickTick if it is connected.

What to keep in mind

Reminders need Schedules on. Grantkeeper never signs in to SAM.gov or renews for you, and logins or bank details never go in a text.
